Me on weapon customization in The Division community Q&A

November 14, 2015 | News

In the third community Q&A video released yesterday, Hamish once again throws questions asked by the The Division community at his fellow colleagues at Ubisoft Massive. For this video, I got to explain a little bit about how weapon customization will work.

Tom Clancy’s The Division - Community Q&A : November 2015

You can watch the video here on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel. At around 1:13, Caleb McCallister from smartwatchpodcast.com asks about the possibilities to change the looks of your guns. I got to answer his question by saying guns come in different versions and that you can apply skins and mods to them, like muzzles and magazines.

Grand Theft Auto IV: Liberty City (5)

June 12, 2009 | Misc

I recently bought an apartment and moved there, I’m now in the process of unpacking, cleaning and detailing. Just before I started packing, I was fanatically playing Anno: Create A New World on the Wii, so the first console I unpacked after moving was my Wii. I packed the casing of the game, but left the disc itself in the console so I wouldn’t have to go look for the game in the couple of boxes containing my games collection.

But I finished Anno fairly quickly after that and didn’t unpack any other games yet, so I decided to start putting my gaming setup back together by getting my Xbox 360 out of storage. Fortunately, this console also had a game already in the drive: Grand Theft Auto IV. Enabling me to put off unpacking the game collection just a bit more, it was time to get back to Liberty City and do some more activities after I already completed the story and The Lost and Damned a while back. Of course, Achievements were the main criteria for what to do in the city.

Unreal Championship 2: The Portrait Conflict

February 22, 2009 | Misc

You see that picture on my Twitter profile? You might recognize it from the cover of the Xbox game Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict.

I never even realized this coincidence until a colleague sent an image of that cover with the following message to everybody at W!Games:

How I got my nickname

February 20, 2009 | Misc

Just to get me going in blogging and expanding my portfolio, I’ll share with you the history of the nickname Patt3rson. People ask me all the time where it comes from, because it’s not your average alias. And as a Dutch guy, it’s not likely it came from my last name.

It all began way before you would ever even need a nickname. MSN wasn’t widely used, consoles weren’t even able to go online yet and there was no reason you would use another name than your own, because people hadn’t discovered yet that they could be total assholes online while using a pseudonym. At that time, I made the first step towards my game related career by founding a simple and small website with previews and reviews, some special articles and the first walkthroughs I ever wrote. I brought some friends on board, who where just as experienced in writing as I was at that time, and our love for playing games got us going.
